H. Moser & Cie Spiced Aqua Collection: Three Radical Takes on Sporty Haute Horlogerie

H. Moser & Cie is back with a collection that’s anything but discreet. The new Pioneer Spiced Aqua series doesn’t just expand the brand’s sportiest range—it transforms it with a jolt of color and complexity. Comprising three distinct models, from a time-only version to a skeletonized cylindrical tourbillon, this launch is as much about design audacity as it is about mechanical excellence.

Moser’s Signature: Independent Spirit Meets Visual Audacity

Founded in 1828, H. Moser & Cie has built a reputation for fusing serious horology with irreverent aesthetics. Based in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, the brand operates independently, crafting its own escapements and hairsprings while consistently challenging traditional Swiss watchmaking codes.

The Pioneer collection stands as Moser’s all-terrain watch—rugged, elegant, and surprisingly versatile. With the Spiced Aqua series, the brand adds a new layer of provocation: color combinations so bold they seem to dare collectors to look twice. But beneath the chromatic audacity lies the very DNA that makes Moser respected among connoisseurs: in-house calibres, sophisticated finishing, and impeccable execution.

Three Models, One Spiced Identity

At the entry point of the collection is the Pioneer Centre Seconds Spiced Aqua, available in brushed stainless steel or black DLC-coated steel. Measuring 42.8mm, this model features a vibrant turquoise fumé dial with a sunburst finish, framed by a bold orange Super-LumiNova flange. The absence of indices or a logo reinforces the brand’s concept approach. Inside ticks the automatic HMC 201 calibre, delivering a 3-day power reserve and showcasing refined decoration. Depending on the case finish, it comes with either a white or orange rubber strap. Prices is set at CHF 14,500 before taxes.

Stepping up, the Pioneer Tourbillon Spiced Aqua introduces mechanical complexity. Housed in a more compact 40mm steel case, it reverses the color scheme: a burnt orange fumé dial takes center stage, ringed by a turquoise flange. The highlight is a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock, powered by the HMC 805 calibre with a double hairspring. With 120m of water resistance and a turquoise rubber strap, it’s a watch that merges haute complication with everyday wearability. Priced at CHF 49,900 (excl. taxes).

At the top of the range is the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Spiced Aqua, a full-on display of horological bravado. It features a 42.8mm steel case topped by a dramatic ultra-domed sapphire crystal, revealing the openworked HMC 811 movement. At 6 o’clock, the cylindrical tourbillon spins within a mechanical architecture that’s both sculptural and refined. Time is shown on a domed, off-center burnt orange sub-dial with turquoise Globolight markers. With 120m water resistance and a turquoise strap, it’s a surprisingly durable showpiece. The price: CHF 79,000 (excl. taxes).

Designed to Be Seen, Built to Be Used

Despite their flamboyant looks, all three Spiced Aqua models are functionally capable timepieces. With 120 meters of water resistance, screw-down crowns, and solid construction, they’re made to go beyond the display box. Yet it’s their play on contrasts and personality that sets them apart.

These watches are clearly aimed at a new kind of collector—someone who appreciates high-end watchmaking but also values bold design language and individual expression. Whether you gravitate toward clean time-only elegance, the architectural beauty of an openworked tourbillon, or something in between, the Spiced Aqua series has a proposition that’s both technical and emotional.

Final Thoughts, Availability & Pricing

H. Moser & Cie’s Spiced Aqua collection is available now through selected retailers and the brand’s website. Prices range from CHF 14,500 to CHF 79,000 (excluding taxes), with options tailored to different levels of complication and collector appetite.

By blending avant-garde design with mechanical credibility, Moser continues to carve its own path in modern haute horlogerie. The Spiced Aqua collection may not be for everyone—but that’s precisely the point. And if you’ve made it this far, you’re probably the kind of watch lover this collection was made for.
